Shipping Methods

Industrial wash stations are typically shipped as either FCL (Full Container Load) or OOG (Out of Gauge) cargo, depending on their size and weight. Breakbulk shipping is less common.

FCL (Full Container Load)

Suitable for multiple, standard-sized wash stations that fit within a 20ft or 40ft shipping container. This is the most cost-effective method for multiple units. Wash stations are secured within the container using appropriate lashing and bracing materials.

OOG (Out of Gauge)

Used for oversized or overweight wash stations exceeding standard container dimensions or weight limits. Requires specialized handling and may involve partial or full disassembly, flat rack shipping, or other specialized equipment. More expensive than FCL.

Breakbulk

Less common for industrial wash stations. Involves loading individual items directly onto a vessel, and is generally the most expensive option.

Choosing a Shipping Method

The best shipping method depends on the wash station's dimensions and weight, the number of units, and your budget. A freight forwarder will assess these factors and recommend the most suitable and cost-effective option.

Packaging Requirements

Proper packaging is crucial to prevent damage during transit. This typically involves:

Crating: Custom-built wooden crates offer superior protection for fragile components.
Wrapping: Using protective materials like bubble wrap, foam padding, or stretch film to cushion the wash station.
Bracing: Securing internal components to prevent shifting during transport.
Labeling: Clearly labeling the crate with "Fragile," "Handle with Care," and relevant shipping information.

Insurance

Cargo insurance protects your shipment against loss or damage during transit. Consider the value of your wash stations and choose a policy that offers adequate coverage. Options include:
