Shipping Rare Coins (Crated Displays)

Cargo Description

Crated displays containing rare coins. Crates will be of a specified size and weight, clearly marked as "FRAGILE" and "VALUABLE CARGO." A detailed inventory listing with individual coin values will be provided. Insurance is required.

Shipment Type

Recommended: FCL (Full Container Load). While potentially OOG (Out of Gauge) depending on crate dimensions, FCL is generally the most cost-effective and secure option if crates fit within standard container parameters. Breakbulk is less suitable due to increased risk of damage.

Shipping Guide (From & To UK)

1. Packaging

• Each coin should be individually packaged with appropriate protective materials (e.g., acid-free tissue paper, foam inserts).
• Coins should be securely placed within the display crates.
• Crates must be sturdy and designed to withstand the rigors of international shipping. Use high-quality materials and reinforcement.
• Clearly label each crate with "FRAGILE," "VALUABLE CARGO," "HANDLE WITH CARE," and relevant shipping information (sender/receiver details, contact information).
• Include a detailed inventory list inside each crate, listing each coin's description and value.

2. Insurance

• Obtain adequate insurance coverage to protect against loss or damage. The policy should cover the full declared value of the coins.
• Work with Shipping International to determine the appropriate insurance level.

3. Documentation

• Prepare a comprehensive packing list detailing the contents of each crate.
• Provide a copy of the insurance policy.
• Complete all necessary customs documentation (e.g., commercial invoice, packing list).
• Ensure all documentation accurately reflects the contents and value of the shipment.

4. Shipping

• Coordinate pickup and delivery with Shipping International.
• Monitor the shipment's progress using the tracking number provided.

5. Container Loading

• If using FCL, ensure crates are properly secured within the container using appropriate padding and bracing to prevent shifting during transit.

6. Upon Arrival

• Inspect the crates for any signs of damage upon arrival.
• Report any damage immediately to Shipping International and your insurance company.
