Shipping Methods

Industrial boiler heat tubes are typically shipped as either FCL (Full Container Load) or OOG (Out of Gauge) cargo. The best method depends on the tubes' dimensions and weight.

FCL (Full Container Load)

Suitable for tubes that fit within a standard 20ft or 40ft container. Proper securing with dunnage and lashing is crucial to prevent damage during transit. This is generally the most cost-effective method for appropriately sized tubes.

OOG (Out of Gauge)

Used for exceptionally long, heavy, or oversized tubes exceeding container dimensions. This requires specialized handling and may involve Breakbulk shipping methods, such as securing on a flat rack or individual transport on a heavy-lift vessel. Breakbulk shipping is less common and typically more expensive.

Choosing the Right Method

The choice between FCL and OOG depends entirely on the physical characteristics of the tubes. Consider factors like length, diameter, weight, and overall volume.

Packaging Specifications

Proper packaging is crucial to prevent damage. Use protective end caps to prevent scratching and denting. Wrap tubes individually in protective film (e.g., polyethylene) to prevent abrasion and moisture damage. Secure tubes within the container or on a flat rack using appropriate bracing and dunnage to prevent shifting during transit. Consider using shock-absorbing materials where necessary.

Documentation Requirements

Necessary documentation includes, but is not limited to: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, export/import licenses (if required), certificates of origin, and any necessary hazardous materials documentation (if applicable). Specific requirements vary depending on origin and destination countries.

Insurance Options

Cargo insurance is highly recommended to protect against loss or damage during shipment. Several types of coverage are available, including Institute Cargo Clauses (ICC) A, B, and C, offering varying levels of protection.
