Shipping Digital Studio Switchboards

Shipping Method

For most shipments, FCL (Full Container Load) is recommended due to the high value and sensitivity of Digital Studio Switchboards. This minimizes handling and maximizes protection. Exceptionally large or heavy switchboards may require OOG (Out of Gauge) handling and potentially Breakbulk shipping, though this is less ideal due to increased risk of damage. Shipping International offers various shipping methods.

Packaging

Robust, custom-fitted crates or packaging designed for sensitive electronics are necessary. Crates should be constructed of high-quality plywood, at least ¾ inch thick, with internal bracing to prevent shifting during transit. Bracing should be strategically placed to support the switchboard's weight and dimensions. Internal dimensions should allow for at least 4 inches of clearance around the switchboard on all sides.

  • Protective padding: Bubble wrap, foam inserts, or air pillows to prevent movement and impact. Padding should be layered to absorb shocks and vibrations. Consider using custom-cut foam inserts for a snug fit.
  • Moisture barriers: Desiccant packs to absorb moisture and prevent corrosion. Place desiccant packs strategically throughout the crate.
  • Clear labeling: Mark packages clearly with "Fragile," "Handle with Care," "This Side Up," and relevant contact information including phone number and email address.
  • Inventory list: Include a detailed inventory list inside each package and a master copy for your records.

Documentation

Accurate and complete documentation is essential for smooth customs clearance. This includes:

  • Commercial Invoice: Detailing the contents, value, and origin of the goods.
  • Packing List: Listing the contents of each package.
  • Bill of Lading (B/L): The contract of carriage between the shipper and the carrier.
  • Certificate of Origin (COO): May be required depending on the destination country.
  • Other necessary permits or licenses: Check with relevant authorities for any specific requirements.
