Diet feeders are typically shipped as FCL (Full Container Load) in either a 20' or 40' container. This is the most cost-effective method for homogenous cargo that can fill a standard container. However, unusually large or oddly shaped feeders may be classified as OOG (Out of Gauge). This requires special handling and may necessitate Breakbulk shipment if they don't fit in a standard container. Breakbulk is less common unless the feeders are exceptionally large or require individual securing.
Shipping International provides comprehensive logistics solutions for shipping diet feeders to and from the UK.
Proper packaging is crucial to prevent damage. Use sturdy, corrugated cardboard boxes of appropriate size. Fill any empty space with void fill material (e.g., bubble wrap, packing peanuts) to prevent shifting. Secure boxes onto pallets using stretch wrap and secure the pallets themselves. Clearly label each box and pallet with contents, weight, and handling instructions ("Fragile," "Handle with Care").
Necessary documentation includes a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and any required import/export permits or licenses specific to the diet feeders and destination country. Customs declarations must accurately reflect the contents and value of the shipment.
Shipping costs depend on several factors: container size, destination port, fuel surcharges, insurance costs, and any special handling fees (e.g., OOG cargo). Distance, weight, and volume all significantly impact the final price. Shipping International can provide cost estimates.
