Shipping Ancient Manuscripts (Secured)

Cargo Description

Ancient manuscripts secured in climate-controlled, archival-quality crates. Each crate will be individually inventoried and marked with fragile handling instructions. Total weight and dimensions will be provided upon crate completion.

Shipment Type

FCL (Full Container Load) in a 20ft or 40ft temperature-controlled container is recommended. While potentially OOG (Out of Gauge) depending on crate size, FCL offers superior security and climate control for this valuable cargo. Breakbulk is unsuitable due to the risk of damage and exposure during handling. The container will be secured with additional internal bracing to prevent shifting during transit.

Shipping Guide (From & To UK)

1. Crate Preparation

Ensure manuscripts are properly packaged in archival-quality, climate-controlled crates. Each crate must be individually inventoried and clearly marked with "FRAGILE," "HANDLE WITH EXTREME CARE," and any other relevant handling instructions.

2. Inventory and Documentation

Provide a detailed inventory list of each crate's contents, including crate dimensions and weight. This is crucial for customs clearance and insurance purposes.

3. Container Loading and Securing

Shipping International will arrange for the loading of the crates into a temperature-controlled container. Additional internal bracing will be implemented to prevent shifting during transit.

4. Customs Clearance

Shipping International will handle all necessary customs documentation and clearance procedures for both the origin and destination countries.

5. Insurance

Shipping International recommends obtaining adequate cargo insurance to protect against loss or damage during transit.

6. Tracking and Delivery

You will receive regular updates on your shipment's progress and be notified upon arrival at the destination.

7. Special Considerations

Due to the sensitive nature of the cargo, special permits or licenses may be required. Shipping International will assist in obtaining any necessary documentation.
